Position Summary:
The Quality Assurance (QA) Manager will oversee the activity of the quality assurance department and staff and is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining a system of quality and reliability for aircraft engine parts warehousing, quality control inspection, material handling, inventory cycle counts, Quality Assurance SOP’s, and Quality Audits.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Oversees hiring and training of new quality assurance staff and refreshers of existing employees; cross training to ensure flexibility in Quality Control.
- Oversees the daily workflow and schedules of the department.
- Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
- Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Manages and maintains all aspects of the quality program.
- Maintains the Quality System Manual and conducts periodic self-audits for ASA-100 compliance.
- Develops, implements, and maintains warehouse operation processes to ensure that products meet required specifications for quality, function, and reliability during the receiving and shipping of inventory.
- Communicates quality standards and parameters to QA team and other appropriate staff.
- Implements inventory cycle counts for inventory.
- Identifies and analyzes issues, bugs, defects, and other problems, particularly when problems recur in multiple products; recommends and facilitates solutions to these issues.
- Analyze quality data to identify trends, root causes, corrective actions, and areas for improvement.
- Reviews customer, vendor, and user feedback.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, local, and organizational laws, regulations, guidelines, and policies.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- College degree (Bachelor or higher) or a minimum of 3 to 5 years of equivalent aviation and supply chain experience.
- Proficient understanding of AC 00-56 and ASA-100 requirements.
- Proficient with Avsight (or similar) and Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Excel, etc.)
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills in a warehouse environment.
- Time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- General understanding of Dangerous Goods rules and regulations.
- General understanding of OSHA and Safety rules and regulations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
