BaseLine Aviation Services are recruiting a Quality Engineer to join our customer on a direct hire basis in Birmingham, AL.
Position Summary:
Will be responsible for developing Quality protocols and support monitoring all applicable certifications within the organization. Will be required to investigate, document, report on, monitor resolution of, and implement preventive measures, drive continuous improvement to address non-conforming quality issues. Will also develop inspection criteria and methods for current and new processes. Will support with documented procedures and work instructions. Other duties as assigned by management.
Quality Engineer Job Duties:
- In-depth understanding of AS9110/ISO9002, EASA, 14 CFR 145 Repair Station, 14 CFR Part 121 or 135, CAA quality systems and documentation requirements.
- Monitoring all activities associated with FAA regulatory requirements, EASA, all applicable civil aviation authorities, and AS9110.
- Assist with SMS compliance.
- Ability to identify operational risk assessments by per forming Gap Analysis.
- Must have engineering drawing interpretation, process inspection and process validation skills.
- Able to interact in a professional manner with suppliers, customers, and internal staff members to address quality issues.
- Ability to write supplement manuals and procedures.
- Maintains the internal approved vendors list to be in compliance with all applicable manual requirements.
- The Quality Engineer must have and demonstrate thorough understanding of the national and international organizations that define the quality requirements for a validation, including ISO/ASTM regulations.
- Accomplishes quality assurance human resource objectives by helping to recruit, selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling employees, communicating quality expectations and help enforcing policies and procedures.
- Achieves quality assurance operational objectives by contributing information and analysis to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; implementing metrics on operational efficiency, quality, and customer-service standards; identifying and resolving problems; completing audits; driving organizational continuous improvements.
- Maintains and improves quality by monitoring compliance, and internal/external surveillance audits; investigating customer complaints; collaborating with other members of management and training personnel.
- Prepares quality documentation and reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends including failed processes, stability studies, recalls, corrective actions, and re-validations.
- Aids with maintaining Operational Specifications utilizing the FAA platforms Web Ops/SAS platforms.
- This position may require travel based on customer and internal regulatory requirement needs.

- BS degree or equivalent and 2 years quality management, manufacturing, engineering experience preferred. In lieu of degree prior work experience, certification and education will be considered.
Skills/Experience Required
Prior experience having successful led AS9110/ISO9002 implementation and certification. Experience in A FAA 145 Repair Station or equivalent e.g. Parts 121 or 135. Technical experience and discipline of SMS. Must possess excellent project management skills. Excellent written/verbal communication. Ability to present out information to executive team on status of projects, lead AS9110/ISO9002 Management Review; Develop Corrective Action Reports and tracking for closed loop; develop quality standards, metrics and instructions and train organization in Quality System.
Aviation & Power Plant License (A&P) (Airframe License acceptable) but not required.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: Posses or be able to obtain a U.S. Passport for travel required for
accomplishment of job duties. Ability to travel extensively (25%-35) with overnight stays to support job functions throughout the network. Travel may include overseas.
